Voters demand an early election
Another week passes with Gordon Brown leading our proud democracy further into the mire.
As public outrage over the MPs’ expenses scandal grows, a poll showed that two-thirds of voters want the Prime Minister to call a general election as soon as possible.
Our Sunday Express stopwatch, however, shows we could have another agonising 54 weeks to wait.
And if Labour has a meltdown – as expected – in the European and English local elections on June 4, Mr Brown may want to hang on until the last possible moment before facing the judgment of voters.
