Manchester bomb ALERT: Homes evacuated after Second World War grenade FOUND in Stockport
POLICE were called to homes on the edge of Manchester today after a Second World War grenade was unearthed.

Greater Manchester Police confirmed a specialist bomb disposal unit was heading to the scene in Heald Green in Stockport this morning.
A number of homes in the area have been evacuated after the ‘explosive device’ was discovered.
Police said that the evacuation was carried out as a precaution.
In a statement, GMP said: “Officers are currently responding to reports that an explosive device had been found at a house in Stockport.
In a statement Greater Manchester Police said: “Around 9.20am this morning, police were called to Gloucester Road in Heald Green.
“Bomb disposal officers are making their way to the house to make an assessment of the device - believed to be a grenade from World War Two - and nearby houses have been evacuated as a precaution.
“Updates will follow.”
The bomb alert is currently affecting Gloucester Road in Heald Green.
