HE HAS dined at some of the finest establishments on the planet, however David Beckham proved he was just an east London lad at heart today.

The retired footballer shared snaps with fans as he tucked into traditional pie and mash, which he revealed reminded him of his late grandfather.
The 40-year-old, who has quickly amassed 5.9 million followers on Instagram, was dressed casually for his outing.
Posing for a photo in a dark wooly hat and denim shirt, the heartthrob wrote simply: "Pie and mash nothing better."
David, who grew up in Leytonstone and now lives in west London, also reminisced: "Reminds me of grandad".

The father-of-four's cockney dinner appeared to bring back of memories of Joseph, who is thought to have passed away six years ago.
David's outing comes just hours after he posted a photo with two pals, writing: "Paris for dinner".
Earlier in the week, the ex-Manchester United star was left humbled when he met physicist and cosmologist Stephen Hawking.
David and Victoria both posted gushing notes to their social media accounts after being introduced to 73-year-old Cambridge-educated Stephen at a party on Monday.
David tweeted to say he had dined in Paris the previous day
His comments come just days after he met Professor Hawking
The hunk described meeting the physicist as "an absolute honour" in the pictures they posted.
He wrote: "It was an absolute honour to meet Professor Hawking. What he said to me was truly amazing."
David shared a picture of the message Stephen wrote out for him, which read: "I'm always being compared to you as a British icon and sometimes you rate higher and sometimes I do."
