'I miss Richard Whiteley so much' Carol Vorderman tweets tribute to late Countdown host
IT'S been almost an entire decade since he passed away but it seems the loss of Richard Whiteley hasn't got any easier for Carol Vorderman.
Carol Vorderman posted an emotional tribute to Richard Whiteley on Twitter
The 54-year-old was overcome with emotion as she visited North Yorkshire today – a region close to Richard's heart.
Posting from Middleham, Carol tweeted: "Beautiful Middleham, North Yorkshire where Briardale is trained @JamesBethellRac My beloved "Richard Whiteley country," alongside an image of horses being ridden through the market town.
Briardale is thorough-bred racing horse the former Loose Women host owns.

She later added: "Middleham gallops in the winter @JamesBethellRac ... Is anywhere more beautiful?"
Finally, she wrote: "Now I've got sad thinking about the horse Richard Whiters and I shared. Mare of Wetwang.. how we enjoyed having her. Miss RW still so much x."
Carol and Richard were a well-loved TV duo when they appeared together on Countdown from 1982 until 2005.
The star died aged 61 in 2005 following emergency heart surgery to replace a faulty valve.

In 2012, Carol spoke openly about her grief following Richard's death during an appearance on Piers Morgan's Life Stories .
She said: "It still hurts very much. I loved him, I really loved him.
"He was more than just nice, he was funny, funny, funny. Every time we were in studio together I would cry laughing. He was just a joy to be with and I loved him. Not in that way, just a genuine, pure thing," Carol continued.
The mother-of-two continued to host the Channel 4 show for a further three years, but left when she and the broadcaster failed to agree the terms of a new contract.
