As she climbed on stage to accept the Favourite Villain Award for Maleficent, Angelina opened up about her misfit past and said that being "different is good."
The star – who was accompanied by daughters Zahara, ten, and Shiloh, eight – explained: "When I was a kid I was told – like Maleficent – that I was different.

"But then I realized something: different is good. So maybe you don't fit in. Be yourself.
"And when someone tells you that you are different just smile and hold your head up, and be proud.
"And as your villain,' the actress added with a wink, "I would say, "Cause a little trouble. It is good for you!"

Writing in New York Times, the 39-year-old said: "I am now in menopause. I will not be able to have any more children, and I expect some physical changes.
"But I feel at ease with whatever will come, not because I am strong but because this is a part of life. It is nothing to be feared. I know my children will never have to say, 'Mom died of ovarian cancer'."
Angelina has six children with fellow actor Brad Pitt, three of them adopted.
Her mother, Marcheline Bertrand, died in 2007 aged 56 following a decade-long battle with cancer.
