The 45-year-old Hollywood actor was pictured arriving at the Jimmy Kimmel Live studios before taking part in an interview.
Arriving at the El Capitan Theatre for his guest appearance, the star was inundated with fans screaming his name and asking for autographs.
Alongside the likes of Jennifer Aniston and Courteney Cox, Matthew shot to fame in Friends in the 1990s.
This time, however, the actor was on hand to promote his latest TV series - The Odd Couple.

Wearing a causal outfit, the star looked laid-back and comfortable as he revealed in the attention.
Arriving at the Venice Family Clinic's Silver Circle Gala in early March, Matthew looked a little fuller in the face.
But it seems he is back to his fabulous self, as he smiled at the cameras outside the studio.

Signing autographs, the star was in high demand
Despite airing his regret at finishing Friends too early, the actor appears to have caught the acting bug again with several projects running at once.
Speaking about his love of hockey, Matthew aired his grievance at the cameras focussing on him at the games rather than the players.
Host Jimmy Kimmel asked if he liked being on the screen, to which Matthew replied: "Not so much. I'd rather them watch the game but, yeah.
"I have season seats and one of the most impressive things I have is the parking. I get to park down the ramp where the players park. It's pretty cool."
