'No call has been received' Cate Blanchett reveals Downton Abbey snub
SHE'S one of the biggest stars in Hollywood but there are still some roles Cate Blanchett struggles to get her hands on.
Cate Blanchett revealed she's desperate for a role in Downton Abbey
The 45-year-old Australian born star revealed she would love to appear on Downton Abbey.
Cate told ITV's Lorraine that she had tried to secure a cameo part on the show, only to receive no answer.
"I did have words, and I followed up with my agent," she admitted.

But, unfortunately for the Lord Of The Rings star, she's still waiting to hear from the period drama's producers.
"No call has yet been received," Cate revealed.
The actress has even turned to her Cinderella co-star Lily James – who used to play Lady Rose MacClare in the show – for advice.
"I'm seeing [Lily] again today, so I'll get [her] to put a good word in," Cate joked.

In other Downton news, Hugh Bonneville – who plays the Earl of Grantham – recently confirmed he show would be back for an eight-episode run and a Christmas special this autumn.
Speaking about what fans can expect, the 51-year-old said: "We're in 1925, so the series has nudged on another six months, and Lady Rose has been on her honeymoon and she's now moved to America."
"Tom Branston has gone to Boston, and some faces that we met towards the end of the fifth season may or may not be coming over the horizon to break or make the hearts of Lady Mary and Lady Edith and people like that."
