Chris Evans hints his The One Show co-star Alex Jones is to announce ENGAGEMENT tonight
HE ANNOUNCED the birth of his granddaughter on the show last month and it seems Chris Evans has another piece of exciting news to share with his listeners.
Chris Evans has hinted that Alex Jones is engaged, and set to reveal all on tonight's The One Show
The 48-year-old BBC Radio 2 presenter spoke about his The One Show co-host, saying she had exciting news to announce this evening.
Speaking about his plans to watch the Six Nations this evening, Chris said he and his wife planned to watch the match with Alex Jones and her boyfriend.
Alex, 37, is currently dating 'boyfriend’ Charlie Thomson, an insurance broker from New Zealand.
Speaking this morning, Chris said: "Tonight on the One Show there will be some news of Alex Jones.
"And all I’m saying it’s huge news for a girl, it’s huge news for a boy, it’s huge news, but for a girl it’s probably like the second most exciting thing that could happen to a girl. It’s happening to Alex."
The pair co-present The One Show and will be on screen this evening
He added: "It’s not in the script but she has asked us to talk about it tonight. So, it’s the easiest way of announcing it – I mean we are half way there as it is I suppose.
"So tonight’s rugby is going to be the rugby and then overtly a celebration about something else."
Chris has taken to talking quite candidly about his personal life on his radio show, including revealing a current health scare.
Father-of-three Chris admitted he researched his symptoms on the internet and scared himself "half to death" before going to the doctors.
Chris hinted that Alex had some 'very exciting' news to tell fans
He took to Twitter this afternoon to say: "Hey everyone getting lots of concerned messages about me and my prostate. Prob more likely a urine infection or irritable bladder. But always best to check. That's the message."
All eyes will be on The One Show this evening, looking out for Alex's announcement.
A representative for Alex has been contacted for a statement.
