The actor was seen whizzing down the river on a black speed boat to mark the first day of filming for the new James Bond film.
The star was accompanied by Rory Kinnear, who plays MI6 Chief of Staff Bill Tanner in the popular spy franchise.
Both wrapped up in smart black macs, the two actors perched at the front of the boat while two men playing security officers – dressed in helmets and dark clothing – steered the craft through the heart of London.

The pair appeared to be having a great time – laughing as they zipped along the river.
However, as the camera rolled their expressions changed to become more serious as they looked as though they were engrossed in an important conversation.
Director Sam Mendes has said the 24th film in the 007 series won't disappoint fans.
He said: "Spectre will be everything you would expect from a Bond movie but, in terms of the last movie, maybe a little more variety, maybe a little more mischief."

Spectre became the latest victim of Sony Pictures hackers at the weekend
But the film's plot isn't as secret as filmmakers would have hoped after they became the latest victim of the Sony Pictures hackers.
The producers of the spy thriller have confirmed that the screenplay was taken as part of a cyber attack on Sony Pictures Entertainment in November.
In a statement on the film's official website, Eon Productions said they were concerned the script may be published online.

The statement said: "Eon Productions, the producers of the James Bond films, learned this morning that an early version of the screenplay for the new Bond film Spectre is amongst the material stolen and illegally made public by hackers who infiltrated the Sony Pictures Entertainment computer system.
"Eon Productions is concerned that third parties who have received the stolen screenplay may seek to publish it or its contents."
The new film, announced earlier this month, will see Daniel Craig make his fourth appearance as Bond, as he is joined by Lea Seydoux, Monica Bellucci and Christoph Waltz.
Spectre is set for release in November 2015.
