Ambulance leaves Coronation Street set after Georgia May Foote faints during filming
AN AMBULANCE was spotted leaving the Coronation Street set earlier today after Georgia May Foote fainted during filming.
The actress, who plays single mum Katy Armstrong in the popular soap, is said to have split her head open during the collapse, which occurred during a break in filming and was allegedly taken to hospital for a precautionary heck up, according to the Daily Star.
The emergency vehicle was seen leaving the Corrie studios earlier this afternoon.
Georgia, 23, recently opened up about her upset after being told she was being axed from the hit soap, comparing the exit with being dumped in a relationship.
The star - who has played Katy for four years - explained that she was upset that leaving Weatherfield wasn't her choice.
"I was a bit gutted that leaving Corrie wasn't my decision - it's like a boyfriend dumping you first - but I'm really excited.
"If anything, it's given me that kick I needed to move onto other things."
Soap bosses have apparently left the door open for a possible return though, with Corrie boss Stuart Blackburn saying: "Katy will not be killed off and the door will be left open for a possible return. We wish Georgia every success with her future career."
This year has seen a plethora of stars leave the soap, including Michelle Keegan, Michelle Collins, Sue Johnston, Chris Gascoyne, Charlie Condou and Phillip Lowrie.
