EastEnders spoiler! Dot Cotton says farewell to son Nasty Nick ahead of his funeral
SHE'S been put through more than her fair share of stress thanks to her troublesome son, but it seems that Dot Cotton is still willing to say goodbye to Nasty Nick.
New stills released by the BBC show the Walford resident saying farewell to her only child, as his coffin sits in her living room ahead of his funeral.
Wearing a black coat with a mathcing hat, Dot can be seen leaning over the coffin as Fatboy and her grandson Charlie look on.
It was thought that she had decided not to attend the funeral, after photos of the cast filming the scenes proved she was noticeably absent - but judging by this latest set, the launderette worker has a change of heart and makes her grandson take her to see Nick's body before he is cremated.
Unsurprisingly, Nick's death isn't without drama and tensions run high between Charlie and Ian Beale ahead of the sad day.
Ian has always had a problem with Nick, and he fails to hide his true feelings which prompts Charlie to ask him to leave.
However, he still attends the funeral with actor Adam Woodyatt spotted filming scenes with his co-stars at a church last week.
Nick's sudden death marks the end of an era for residents of Albert Square, as he was one of the original EastEnders characters and appeared in the very first episode of the show back in 1985.
Although he has only been a semi-regular character on the show, the crook's notoriety has gone down in soap history.
Viewers have yet to discover how the dodgy dealer met his end but, knowing Nick, it is likely to be something sinister.
