Teenagers will lose virginity to sex robots WITHIN NEXT 10 YEARS
TEENAGERS will opt for sex with a robot rather than with another person when losing their virginity in the future, an expert has sensationally claimed.
Sex with robots might become common
As the prospect of human-looking robots approaches reality, some experts believe that intimacy between man and machine might also become more commonplace, rather than between two humans.
Emeritus professor of robotics at Sheffield University, Noel Sharkey, says that teens could turn to cyborgs to lose their ‘virginity’, which could have a negative impact on society.
Speaking at the Cheltenham Science Festival, Professor Sharkey warned that it could lead to a generation of socially awkward adolescences.
He said: “It’s not a problem having sex with a machine. But what if it’s your first time, your first relationship?
Sexbots are already on the rise
“What do you think of the opposite sex then? What do you think a man or a woman is?
“It will get in the way of real life, stopping people forming relationships with normal people.”
Japan has already taken the lead in human-esque sex robots, and they are also on the market in the US too.
Love knows no bounds, apparently
Although the UK hasn’t taken to them just yet, Prof Sharkey says that the nation will in the future.
He added that there should be an age limit to purchase said robots, but that teenagers will inevitably find a way to access them.
He continued: “Sex robots are accessible now and certainly [will be common] within the next ten years. I think there will be an age limit.
“Certainly there should be, but if your dad or mum had one, you could sneak in and use it.”
