WATCHING excessive amounts of pornography leads to sexual aggression, a new study has found.

Researchers claim that the findings leave “no doubt” that the more porn one watches, the more likely they will “hold attitudes conducive to sexual aggression and engage in actual acts of sexual aggression”.
In their analysis, researchers from Indiana University and the University of Hawaii at Manoa looked at 22 studies which all linked pornography to increased sexual aggression in both men and women.
Excessive porn can lead to sexual aggression
The analysed studies contained self-reports of watching copies amounts of pornography and acts of sexual aggression, which led the researchers to the conclusion that there is a link between the two.
They write in the Journal of Communication the data leaves "little doubt that, on the average, individuals who consume pornography" and more likely to have "attitudes conducive to sexual aggression and engage in actual acts of sexual aggression than individuals who do not consume pornography or who consume pornography less frequently”.
Verbal aggression in both men and women is most common
It adds although verbal sexual aggression is more common, physicality can occur.
The report: "The association for physical sexual aggression, although smaller than the association for verbal sexual aggression, was still positive and significant.
“Pornography consumption was associated with an increased probability of the use or threat of force to obtain sex.”
