SpaceX Starlink: How many Starlink satellites are there? [ANALYSIS]
SpaceX has today seen its 13th launch of the year.
The launch was another example of the company’s cost-saving Rideshare program.
The latest set of Starlink satellites have launched with three small SkySat satellites from imaging company Planet.
The pair had previously launched another set of three small satellites in June.
Today’s launch also marks the latest success of Elon Musk’s company, which has enjoyed an unparalleled successful summer in 2020.
SpaceX became the first private company to launch astronauts to the International Space Station (ISS) when Demo-2 took off on May 30 before safely returning to Earth on August 2.
The company also successfully demonstrated its latest Starship prototype could fly.
On August 4, Starship launched for its latest test, which saw the shiny reusable rocket soaring 500ft (150m) into the air.
SpaceX also won a hugely significant national security launch contract, beating its rivals Blue Origin and Northrop Grumman.
