Princess Eugenie is “happy and relaxed” and she’s not “hiding from cameras” despite her parents’ humiliation, a source has claimed. Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson’s youngest daughter was pictured in West London on Tuesday, enjoying a casual outing with her husband, Jack Brooksbank.

Eugenie was seen grabbing a coffee in full casual attire, consisting of a North Face cap, teal leggings, a black printed top, a navy jacket and a pair of black Nike trainers. Her husband was wrapped up warm in a colourful bobble beanie hat, a teal jacket, dark trousers and a pair of Nike trainers, pictures published by the Daily Mail showed.

It has been a tough week for Eugenie and her sister, Princess Beatrice, following their father's arrest last Thursday.

But a source claimed the princess seemed at ease and did not mind the cameras as she tried to “stay away” from her parents’ scandal. Eugenie’s father, the former Duke of York, was arrested early on Thursday morning on suspicion of misconduct in public office and spent 11 hours in custody before being released under investigation.

It came after the latest revelations in the Jeffrey Epstein files. Andrew has always denied wrongdoing.

A source told People Magazine: “She was chatting away with someone she knows and seemed very relaxed. It was all very casual. She was laughing and joking. She looked happy and at ease — not like someone trying to hide.”

Another source said that both sisters are prioritising their own families and want to protect their children from the latest scandal. They said: “They're trying to stay away from it. They have young children, and this is their grandfather — their focus is on protecting their own children from this.”

They added: “That has to feel like a complete betrayal. They’re heartbroken — but a dad is still your dad, and a mom is still your mom. Love for a parent isn’t a light switch. It’s an incredibly painful and introspective moment for them.”

Eugenie has kept busy in recent weeks, just as more embarrassing revelations about her father’s association with the convicted sex offender emerged. Last week, she was spotted enjoying a meal in Gstaad, Switzerland. She was joined by her husband and their two sons, August and Ernest.

Earlier in February, Eugenie spent some time in Qatar, attending the Art Basel 2026 in Doha, Qatar, in her role as director at Hauser and Wirth.

In pictures uploaded on Instagram by Finnish reporter Rita Tainola, who also attended the art event, Eugenie can be seen casually smiling and posing with others in Doha. The princess sported her signature smart casual style, wearing a black and white outfit, which consisted of a maxi skirt and a sleeveless top.

Ms Tainola wrote on her Instagram: “By the way HRH princess Eugenie, Eugenie of York, is a very nice woman with good self-confidence.”
