OPINION: Andrew has lost so much over the last few months, and if he continues to do one thing, he may lose the relationship with his daughters.

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has lost almost everything over the last few months as a result of scandals surrounding his past ties to Jeffrey Epstein. From his royal titles, to his Royal Lodge home (eviction pending), and everything in between, the former prince seems to have little left to lose.

However, if he doesn’t play his cards right, his relationship with his daughters could be next on the to-lose list. While not suggested by Princess Beatrice or Princess Eugenie themselves, it is believed - and claimed by some royal experts - that Andrew has been looking at his daughters as his last link to his royal life.

Just this week, one royal expert claimed that he had persuaded Beatrice and Eugenie to spend Christmas at Sandringham just so the princesses could keep tabs on what was going on and report back to him.

While this is, of course, not confirmed, it could be very damaging if this is the case.

If he uses his daughters as a listening ear for his own selfish purposes when it comes to royal events and what the family are saying, or not saying, about him, they may no longer want anything to do with him at all.

After all, they are his daughters - not his personal spies. And they didn’t ask to be put in this situation.

I mean, who wants to be used in a piggy-in-the-middle style situation between a parent and the rest of the family, let alone between Andrew and the royals?

In fact, it is unlikely they want to be caught in the middle at all, especially in a situation they are only in as a result of scandals Andrew faces, alongside accusations against the former prince (which he continues to deny).

After all, the Princesses themselves have done nothing wrong, yet they are the royals in the most awkward position as a result of Andrew’s situation.

Luckily for them, the King seems to still have his nieces’ backs, with this not set to change anytime soon.

So, Andrew, if you see this, do your daughters a favour and don’t use them as a way to get information about the royal events you are rightly banned from attending. It will only drive a wedge between you and your daughters.

Instead, stick to being their father. That’s all they want from you.
