Princess Beatrice is said to be teaching her two daughters that "compassion and social responsibility are central" to their family. Beatrice, 37, shares Sienna, three, and Athena, seven months, with her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi.

The royal is also a proud stepmum to Edoardo's nine-year-old son Wolfie. In a rare comment about her eldest daughter, who will turn four next month, Beatrice sweetly said that she feels that Sienna is "already a lifelong patron" at Teenage Cancer Trust.

Beatrice, who is the eldest daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, added: "My 18th birthday, I got to come down to the ward and meet some of the young people. And I think when you're a young person yourself, it changed for me the trajectory of, you know, what it is to be in service."

Speaking of Beatrice's comment about Sienna, Laura Gwilt, Swift Psychology's child and adolescent therapist, told HELLO! that it is a reflection of an intentional effort to embed certain values in her children from an early age.

Laura said: "Even though Sienna is still very young, the language Beatrice uses signals to her daughter, and to those around her, that compassion and social responsibility are central to her family identity.

"From a developmental perspective, children internalise values through modelling, so consistently framing charity work as important can encourage empathy, perspective-taking, and community awareness as Sienna grows.

"This approach shows foresight, as early exposure to altruistic behaviours is associated with stronger social and emotional development in later childhood."

Beatrice's promise to her daughters will likely make her own mum smile, with Sarah recently sharing a post all about kindness and gratitude.

Alongside a picture of her on a trip, Sarah wrote: "Today on World Humanitarian Day, I’m filled with gratitude and hope...

"My wish for the future? That we all become bridges between generations, communities and dreams. So together, let’s continue to offer compassion, lift up young voices, and nurture a more hopeful, and inclusive world for all."
