Prince Harry and Meghan Markle "get into it in a big way" when they fight, according to a royal author who spoke to a Buckingham Palace aide about the inner workings of the couple's relationship.

Both Prince Harry and Prince William seem to have the perfect happy marriage with their respective wives, Meghan and Princess Kate, but apparently they all row like any couples do.

Tom Quinn previously told Daily Express US that he had learned how differently the dynamics between the Waleses and the Sussexes play out during their disagreements.

He explained: "Someone who worked for Kensington Palace told me they [William and Kate] do have rows. It's not a perfect marriage. They have terrific rows."

However, "where some couples have a row and throw heavy vases at each other, William and Kate throw cushions at each other. It's always kept under control".

For William and Kate, "It doesn't escalate. The fight doesn't get bigger and bigger", whereas this is allegedly not the case for Harry and Meghan.

The aide told Mr Quinn: "When Harry and Meghan fight, they both really get into it in a big way."

This has been attributed to William and Kate adopting the late Queen Elizabeth's mantra of 'never complain, never explain', while the Sussexes have distanced themselves from the Royal Family.

In the early days of their relationship a disagreement between Harry and Meghan could have led to their story playing out quite differently, according to another source.

Brand Sussex may not have ever existed if Harry had not allegedly accepted an ultimatum from Meghan to go public with their relationship.

An extract from Valentine Low's book 'Courtiers: The Hidden Power Behind the Crown' claims that Meghan told Harry she would break it off if he did not publicly acknowledge her as his girlfriend.

One source said: "She was saying, 'If you don’t put out a statement confirming I’m your girlfriend, I’m going to break up with you.'"

The Prince then panicked, as another insider claimed: "He was freaking out, saying, 'She’s going to dump me.'"

Some of the biggest rows involving Harry and Meghan took place between the Sussexes and the rest of the Royal Family, as detailed in Tom Bower's book 'Revenge: Meghan, Harry and the War between the Windsors'.

This particular argument took place during the Commonwealth Day Service in 2020 at Westminster Abbey, the last royal engagement the Sussexes took part in.

Mr Bower claimed that Palace officials wanted to "publicly humiliate" Harry and Meghan, as he wrote: "A monumental argument blew up after Harry was told that he and Meghan could not join the family’s procession through Westminster Abbey for the annual Commonwealth Day Service.

"Although the order of service listed Harry and Meghan walking behind the Queen, Palace officials had revised their decision. Suspicious about the Sussexes, they decided to publicly humiliate them.

"Harry was told that having stepped down from royal duties, he and Meghan would sit and wait with the congregation. The prospect of the televised image of their isolation in the Abbey appalled them."
