Real reason Prince Harry and Meghan Markle invited celebs over royals to Lilibet birthday

Royal expert Tom Quinn said Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's ongoing feud with the Royal Family could be why no senior royals were invited.

A royal expert has claimed that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle didn’t invite senior royals to Princess Lilibet Diana’s birthday party because of the ongoing feud between themselves and senior members of the Royal Family.

Lilibet celebrated her third birthday on June 4 with her parents marking the special day with a small party at their home in Montecito, California.

No senior members of the Royal Family reportedly attended, but the likes of Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry may have done so, according to royal author Tom Quinn.

The royal author explained why he believed celebrities were invited, but not members of Prince Harry’s family.

He told The Mirror: "Shockingly, no invitations to Lilibet’s party were issued to members of the Royal Family."

Mr Quinn added: "One of Harry's old army friends said: 'Harry knew they wouldn't come anyway and he was pretty sure he would not have wanted them there.”

“But he is really sad that Archie and Lilibet cannot have any kind of relationship with their cousins while his feud with his family continues'.”

As a result of this ongoing feud with the Royal Family, Lilibet has been unable to see more of her family than she may have done had relations been better.

Meanwhile, thoughts have turned to the potential impact of this lack of a relationship on future questions Archie and Lilibet may have for their parents when they get older.

Royal expert Phil Dampier believes Harry and Meghan may soon have to answer questions posed by Archie and Lilibet.

He told The Sun: “The fact that they are still seven and eight in line to the throne is quite extraordinary.

"And you never know, one day they might actually be called into action to some degree. They might move up the scales so it's all hanging a bit by a thread.”

Mr Dampier added: “I think, when they get older, they're going to start asking questions and say, 'How did it come to this, that we haven't got a relationship with our grandparents or the Royal Family?'”

This isn’t the first time Harry and Meghan have been criticised when it comes to their parenting. Earlier this week, royal commentator Lee Cohen slammed the pair for looking at some of the most prestigious and expensive schools in California.

Mr Cohen told GBN America it was “infuriating” how “the self-proclaimed champions of equality and social justice, are even contemplating enrolling their children in an exclusive outrageously expensive school”.

He added: “Their supposed commitment to progressive causes is nothing but a façade…How can they possibly justify this when so many families struggle to afford even the basic necessities?”
