King Charles will celebrate the second Trooping the Colour of his reign today, and royal fans were overjoyed to hear last night that the Princess of Wales feels well enough to attend the special occassion.

Sharing a deeply moving personal statement, Kate confirmed that she will attend King Charles's birthday parade alongside her three children, Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, nine, and Prince Louis, six

The 75-year-old monarch was determined to attend his birthday parade, which sees thousands gather in the streets of London to catch a glimpse of the pomp and ceremony, despite his cancer diagnosis at the start of the year.

The momentous occasion sees members of the Firm travel from Buckingham Palace and down the Mall to Horse Guard’s parade. The royals are followed by over 1,400 parading soldiers, 200 horses and 400 musicians.

Following the display of military precision and pomp and pageantry, the Royal Family then gather on the Buckingham Palace balcony to watch an RAF fly-past. The spectacular display is watched with awe, and here Express.co.uk takes a look at when exactly the flypast will take place on the day.

What is the RAF Flypast?

A large formation of military aircraft will participate in the King’s birthday flypast.

It will feature the iconic Red Arrows and the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight which includes a Lancaster bomber, usually flanked by 12 other aircraft - Spitfires, Hurricanes, a Dakota and a couple of DHC-1 Chipmunks.

More aircraft are yet to be confirmed.

On the day, restrictions on aircrafts will be imposed in the vicinity of the North Sea, East Anglia, Essex and London, to ensure the Flypast’s safe passage over Buckingham Palace.

The dispersal will occur to the West and North West of London over Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire.
