King Charles 'everywhere' after making big decision as he returns to royal duties
EXCLUSIVE: King Charles has returned to his public-facting duties and he appears to be "happy" and in "good spirits," says royal journalist.
Royals: King Charles goes on impromptu walkabout
King Charles was behind closed doors for three months and now that he’s back to work, he can’t get enough and has decided he's “popping up everywhere.”
Charles went on medical leave in February immediately following his cancer diagnosis and returned to his public-facing duties at the end of April. He is still undergoing treatment, but he is well enough to carry out his royal engagements.
Earlier this month, Charles hosted a garden party for 3,000 people on the Buckingham Palace lawn and then surprised everyone by showing up at the Royal Opera House semi-unannounced.
It seemed like Charles was missing the public, but we were corrected by seasoned journalist, Kerry Parnell, who said: “He missed the action.”
Daily Express US spoke exclusively to Ms Parnell, Telegraph columnist and co-author of The Royal List newsletter, who said: “The summer is the beginning of the royal season, they have a lot of key occasions that he would be really sorry to miss, like the King’s Birthday Parade.”
Ms Parnell did pick up on the king’s energy, seen at the recent events, saying: “I think he was really keen to get back out there.”

The monarch's official birthday parade, more formally known as Trooping the Colour, is on Saturday, June 15 this year and kicks off at 10:20am.
Charles has made it known he’s looking forward to the event, so much so, he was hoping to arrive on horseback, but it's more likely he will be arriving by carriage with his wife Queen Camilla.
Charles is a great horseman, and the concern isn't about him being thrown, it's heat stroke, as soldiers have been known to faint when wearing the tall fur caps.

The next six weeks are predicted to be quiet, as both Charles and William are taking a break from most royal engagements because of the General Election, which is to take place on July 4.
Charles is expected to attend The Garter Service, which typically takes place in June, but as of now the Royal Family’s website says the event will take place “this summer” and does not include an exact date.
