Carole Middleton becomes 'Mary Poppins' to grandchildren during Princess Kate's recovery
The Princess of Wales's mother, Carole Middleton, was praised by an insider who claimed she has been rallying around Princess Kate's family following her cancer diagnosis announcement.
Carole Middleton has been hailed as the "driving force" keeping the Princess of Wales's family together as Kate undergoes cancer treatment with "minimum fuss and maximum modesty", an insider has claimed.
The 69-year-old, who is known to be very close with her eldest daughter, was branded a "real Mary Poppins-like figure" to grandchildren Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
Carole has been rallying around the Wales family after Princess Kate bravely announced her cancer diagnosis to the world, something which was described as "desperately upsetting" for Mrs Middleton.
Royal expert Jennie Bond previously told the Mirror: "Catherine may be 42, but she is still Carole’s little girl, and to watch her go through this and withstand the bullying pressure to explain must have been desperately upsetting.
"She has no doubt been a tower of strength and a comforting presence for the children, but she, too, will need reassurance."

Now a source close to the Middletons sang her praises saying she's given her grandchildren "endless support".
They told the Independent: "Carole has been the driving force keeping the family together with minimum fuss and maximum modesty.
"She's ferried and fetched George, Louis and Charlotte, taken them to school sports matches and given them endless support. She's been a real Mary Poppins-like figure."
Carole has seven grandchildren in total.

Apart from the Wales children, Mrs Middleton has three grandchildren from her middle child, Pippa - Arthur, five, Grace, four, and one-year-old Rose and newborn grandson Inigo from her son James.
Carole and her husband, Michael Middleton live in Bucklebury, Berkshire, which is only around 40 minutes away from the Wales's Adelaide Cottage in Windsor. Kate's sister, Pippa, also lives in Berkshire.
Back in 2021, Carole opened up on her role as a grandmother to Good Housekeeping, saying: "I want to run down the hills, climb the trees and go through the tunnel at the playground.
"As long as I am able to, that’s what I’ll be doing. I cook with them, I muck around dancing, we go on bike rides."
