Buckingham Palace launches new Coronation display open to public view for first time
From July 14, Buckingham Palace will be opening its doors to the public with the launch of a brand-new Coronation display.
Buckingham Palace is set to launch a special new Coronation display for members of the public, allowing royal fans to get a glimpse of items used at the King's Coronation two months ago.
The display, which will run until September 24, will allow fans to get up close to the gowns worn by Their Majesties, as well as a host of historic items such as Coronation Glove.
As of July 14, the display will be included as part of a visit to the Summer Opening of the State Rooms at Buckingham Palace.
The sword belt, which was worn around the King's waist, and the Stole Royal will also be on display.
The beautifully-crafted gown worn by Queen Camilla, which showed off the couple's love of nature, will also be featured.
The King's gown, which was worn during the balcony appearance on May 6, is set to be the main focus.
The piece holds significant as it was previously worn by his grandfather, the late King George VI, during his own coronation in 1937.
Tickets for the display are available to be purchased through the Royal Collection Trust website.
Royal Collection Trust's Sally Goodsir, who is the curator of the display, previously said: "We are delighted that visitors to the Summer Opening of Buckingham Palace State Rooms will have the opportunity to view up close the ensembles worn by Their Majesties for key moments at the Coronation."
She added: "We hope that visitors will enjoy learning about the incredible craftsmanship involved and discovering the history and personal associations behind Their Majesties' Coronation ensembles."
The King's Coronation took place on May 6 at Westminster Abbey, with more than 2,000 people in attendance.
The ceremony was televised and viewed by millions across the globe, and marked the first coronation of a British monarch in 70 years.
Queen Camilla was crowned alongside the King, marking another significant moment in history.
