'Daddy's girl!' Royal fans in meltdown over new photos of Charlotte and 'doting' William
ROYAL fans have gushed over new pictures of the "sweetheart" Princess Charlotte at the Commonwealth Games.
Commonwealth Games 2022: Cambridges attend day five
Charlotte joined the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge at the Sandwell Aquatics Centre in Smethwick for the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games. Pictures from the event showed the 7-year-old royal between Kate and William.
Charlotte was spotted beaming ear to ear while at the event with her parents.
The 7-year-old cheered on swimmers, pulled faces at her parents, and looked on with nerves or surprise at who was going to win.
Royal fans gushed over the pictures, as Twitter user @pooja33719735 said: “Princess Charlotte is both a mummy's and daddy's girl - such a sweetheart!”
User @zillahwanogho added: “A beauty a national treasure Charlotte the charming Princess.”
More users heaped adoration onto the Cambridge royal snaps, with user @einstein_evans saying: “Absolutely wonderful to see The Cambridges.
“A dotting dad, a proud wife, and a charming daughter.”
Over a picture of Charlotte giving William a thumbs up, user @gofollie said: “PrincessCharlotte sandwiched btwn pure love!!!!!”
Sitting behind the trio were their relatives Prince Edward, Sophie Wessex and their children Lady Louise Windsor and Viscount Severn, who were also at the Games yesterday.
Charlotte and Kate greeted the Wessex royals, with user @royallybelle_ saying: “Look at how happy the Countess of Wessex is to see the Cambridges! Love their relationship”
It comes days after Charlotte sent a supportive message to England's victorious Lionesses with her dad William.
Before they recorded their emphatic final win against Germany to lift the European championships trophy, she wished them the best of luck as they prepare to take on Germany at Wembley in the final of Euro 2022.
In a recorded message posted on Twitter, William said: “We both want to wish the Lionesses the best of luck for tonight.
“You’ve done amazing well in the competition and we are rooting for you all the way.”
Charlotte, at William’s side, said: “Good luck, I hope you win. Bye”.
The Commonwealth Games had its opening ceremony last week, with Charlotte's grandfather Prince Charles officially declaring the Games open.
Addressing the crowd on behalf of the Queen, Charles said: “On October 7 last year, this specially created Baton left Buckingham Palace to travel across the Commonwealth.
“Over the past 294 days, it has carried not only my message to you, but also the shared hopes and dreams of each nation and territory through which it has passed, as it made its way to Birmingham.
“But above all they remind us of our connection with one another, wherever we may be in the world, as part of the Commonwealth family of nations.”
