Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, and Prince William met at St Andrew’s University. It was believed she first won over the young Prince’s affections after she took part in a charity fashion show in March 2002 and strutted on the catwalk in a revealing number that caught William’s eye. The couple have now been married for eight years and have three adorable children. But a shocking revelation about a high school play starring young Kate seems to have predicted her entire future.
Who was Kate Middleton before she became the Duchess of Cambridge?
The Duchess of Cambridge was born to Michael and Carole Middleton on January 9, 1982 at the Royal Berkshire Hospital.
Her parents first met through work: her mother was working as a British Airways flight attendant and her father was a flight dispatcher.
She is the eldest of three children, a sister Pippa Middleton and a brother James Middleton.
Her family moved to Amman, Jordan, when the Duchess of Cambridge was two years old until September 1986 when they returned to Berkshire.
She then enrolled in private school St Andrew’s School near Pangbourne in Berkshire.
After this she studied at Downe House School in Cold Ash and Marlborough College in Wiltshire.
What was the play that predicted Kate Middleton’s future?
While the Duchess of Cambridge was at St Andrews prep school in the village of Buckhold near Pangbourne, she tried her hand at acting.
Thirteen-year-old Catherine acted in The Murder in the Red Barn school play which ended up having a prophetic twist.
The leading man was called William and proposed to Kate on bended knee.
The plot of the Victorian melodrama Murder in the Red Barn centred around William asking Kate to be his bride, except this suitor was a schoolboy called Kingsley Glover.
Earlier in the play, a fortune-teller had studied Kate Middleton’s palm and told her: “Soon you will meet a handsome man, a rich gentleman.”
An excited Miss Middleton, wearing a flowing white gown with black lace detail for the part, said: “It is all I have ever hoped for. Will he fall in love with me?”
The fortune-teller replied: “Indeed he will.”
Catherine then asked: “And marry me?”
To which the fortune teller confirmed: “And marry you.”
After which she then asked: “‘Will he take me away from here?”
The fortune-teller replied: “Yes, to London.”
In footage of the high school play, Catherine Middleton is strikingly similar to herself today, despite the 24 year age gap between the two Kates.
With the exception of a bob which she sported at 13-years-old, the future Duchess of Cambridge is a picture perfect copy of herself today, exuding elegance.
Bo Bruce, daughter of the Earl of Cardigan, a former classmate of Kate’s, and, later, a star on The Voice, spoke with Hello! about attending school alongside the Middleton sisters.
She said: “They were such cool girls at school and were both universally loved.
“Kate looks like a glamorous film star these days, she was always incredibly beautiful — I’m a big fan.”
