Kate Middleton shows family photo during school visit
Kate spoke about three-year-old Charlotte’s surprising snack choice during a royal engagement to Lavender Primary School in north London today. As she chatted to children at the school, Kate told them: “Charlotte loves olives.” The duchess added that adorable Charlotte and Prince George, five, enjoy cooking and recently made cheesy pasta.
Speaking after Kate’s visit, Matthew Kleiner-Mann, chief executive of the Ivy Learning Trust, said: “She was telling us how much her children love cooking and how they cook for her.
“They made cheesy pasta the other day. One stirs the flour, one puts the milk and butter in. And they make salads and stuff.
“Food is important to her and she understands the links between mental health and physical exercise.”
Kate discussed food and health during the school visit to mark Children's Mental Health Week.
She said: “It’s interesting how food and energy and how you feel work together.
“It’s amazing the connection between physical and mental well-being.”
Kate also shared the family picture from her and Prince William’s 2018 Christmas card after being asked to bring along an object that makes her happy.
She said: "These are my children and this is my husband.
"We like playing outside together and spending lots of time together as a family and that makes me feel happy."
And when Kate arrived at the school, the youngsters gathered outside the building and sang songs to welcome her.
The 37-year-old later made an appearance at Alperton Community School in Brent.
She stunned in a bright green dress by Eponine and stylish black boots.
It comes after Kate revealed another one of Charlotte’s favourite things when she visited to homeless charity The Passage with William last December.
Kate and William took part in an arts and crafts workshop during the engagement.
As she helped to make bead bracelets, the duchess said: "Charlotte would love making these."
Charlotte clearly takes after her mother, with William joking that Kate is the “artsy one” as he took part in the activity.
