BREXIT BOOST: AI could unlock £630 BILLION in UK economy
MINISTERS have been urged to make Britain a world leader in the development of artificial intelligence.
Artificial intelligence could unlock £630 BILLION in the economy
A report written for the Government says AI could unlock £630billion in the economy by 2035 and boost post-Brexit productivity.
It could also improve healthcare for patients with smarter scheduling of operations and appointments, the development of drug treatments and could even save lives through the faster detection and diagnosis of disease.
British consumers would also benefit from a range of products such as personalised financial planning services.
Culture Secretary Karen Bradley said she wants the UK to lead the way in AI
The report concludes: “Increased use of Artificial Intelligence can bring major social and economic benefits to the UK.”
It calls for a major programme of AI study at universities and a national centre for excellence in the development of AI.
Culture Secretary Karen Bradley said: “I want the UK to lead the way in Artificial Intelligence.
“We already have some of the best minds in the world working on Artificial Intelligence, and the challenge now is to build a strong partnership with industry and academia to cement our position as the best place in the world to start and grow a digital business.”
