THERESA May will be grilled by a Question Time audience tonight after coming under fire for missing the BBC election debate on Wednesday.

The Prime Minister and her Labour rival Jeremy Corbyn will face questions from audience members during a Question Time special in York tonight.
Theresa May and Mr Corbyn will not debate each other head-to-head but will take questions from the audience on a consecutive basis.
The Question Time, Leaders Special will be aired at 8.30pm on BBC One with the same format as the 2015 Question Time show between David Cameron and Ed Miliband.
The latest election programme comes after Mr Corbyn called on Mrs May to join him in a seven-way-debate on the BBC on Wednesday night.
Mrs May has refused to take part in election debates and sent Home Secretary to take her place and represent the Conservatives.
In April she said: "We won't be doing television debates.

“I believe in campaigns where politicians actually get out and about and meet with voters.

As always, the Question Time shows will be presented by veteran host David Dimbleby, 78, who is marking his 10th general election as a presenter.
Another Question Time election special, on Sunday 4 June, will feature Liberal Democrat leader Tim Farron and SNP leader Nicola Sturgeon. It will be broadcast on BBC1 from 6:00pm.

Mrs May and Mr Corbyn appeared on Sky’s Battle For Number 10 earlier this week where they were grilled by a studio audience and a bullish Jeremy Paxman.
Yesterday, party leaders took part in a direct debate without Theresa May, who refused to attend. Amber Rudd represented to the Conservatives.
Jeremy Corbyn had previously declined to take part in the debate but changed his mind on the day.
