NICOLA Sturgeon was dealt a blow after a poll of Scottish voters said Theresa May was doing a better job than the Scottish First Minister.

In the same week the Scottish National Party leader announced her plans for a independence referendum to drag Scotland out of the Union, Theresa May’s approval rating was put at six percentage points higher than Ms Sturgeon’s.
A data survey of more than 2,000 people living in Scotland by Sky News also put Scottish Conservative head Ruth Davidson five points ahead of the prime minister.
While embattled Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn came out worse in the approval ratings.

The results will come as fresh embarrassment for the SNP leader who last week announced her plans for a second vote to break up the UK between annum 2018 and spring 2019.
Nicola Sturgeon has repeatedly used the EU referendum result to push her case for a second independence vote to ensure her country is not “driven off a hard-Brexit cliff”.
Mrs May and Ms Sturgeon have since engaged in an extraordinary public row, with the Prime Minister saying: “This is not a moment for playing political games.”
