The former education secretary pulled out of appearing on the BBC One show after she criticised Prime Minister Theresa May’s £995 leather trousers.
It then emerged that she herself owned a designer handbag worth £950.
Programme makers Hat Trick said: “It was decided in the light of her spat with Downing St over expensive leather goods to replace her with a handbag.”

Morgan tweeted: “I’d have donated the original bag if asked - it would have better lines than me.”
Morgan was uninvited to a meeting about Brexit this week after her comments angered Downing Street.
She pulled out of the satirical news show on Wednesday due to “unforeseen circumstances” despite being booked to appear since September.

The row started when Morgan spoke about the £995 price tag for May’s Amanda Wakeley-designed trousers, which she wore in a photoshoot.
“My barometer is always, ‘How am I going to explain this in Loughborough market? Morgan said.
“I don’t have leather trousers.
