Is this man for turning? Ukip MP Douglas Carswell REFUSES to rule out return to the Tories
UKIP MP Douglas Carswell has refused to rule out a return to the Conservative Party, two years ago after defecting.

In an interview with The House magazine, Mr Carswell hinted his political future was unclear.
Asked if he would return to the Conservative Party, Mr Carswell said: "I suspect the next general election will be in 2020, who knows what the world will look like then?"
His comment is in stark contrast to previous replies to the same question where he has stated categorically that he would not rejoin the Tories.
He has previously stated: "Personally, no disrespect to any of them, but I am through with the Conservatives - I’m not going to become a Conservative again."

Mr Carswell, who represents Clacton and is Ukip’s only MP, switched parties after claiming David Cameron was not serious about the changes the country needed and the country needed to control its borders

However, Mr Carswell is understood to have clashed with current leader Nigel Farage prompting speculation that he was considering rejoining the Conservatives.
Douglas Carswell said he supports the government as it is a Brexit government
Mr Farage said earlier this year that his party's only MP "doesn't support anything we do” and accused him of "sniping from the sidelines" giving the "impression of division" in the party.
Mr Carswell, when quizzed about his future aspirations, said he supported the Government “because it is a Brexit government”.
