BITTER European Parliament bosses have launched a major purge of British MEPs from top posts as the UK prepares to turn its back on the bureaucratic European Union (EU), it has emerged.

Senior British lawmakers could be pushed aside before the nation even triggers Article 50 - the formal process for leaving the Brussels club - if power-grabbing colleagues get their way.
The attempted purge comes amid repeated calls by moany EU members who are determined to see British MEPs out of their their roles as committee chairs on the European Parliament.
In just two months time, members will decide on their new president and heads of committees during the Parliament’s mid-term leadership elections.

Marc Tarabella, Belgian Socialist and Democratic group member, said: “We have mid-term elections in two months.
It wouldn’t be normal to get British MEPs to influence EU policy
“It wouldn’t be normal to get British MEPs to influence EU policy.”
Mr Tarabella said he would look to challenge one of the Parliament’s most powerful British members, Vicky Ford.
He told US politics site, Politico: “I will ask Vicky Ford if she intends to stay as IMCO committee chair.

“And if not, I will urge other British MEPs to resign from their key positions.”
Italian S&D member Sergio Cofferati said he supported the purge, adding: “We will have to make choices in the future that perhaps will not affect the UK.”
