LARRY the Downing Street cat risked the wrath of the Prime Minister by climbing over her car parked outside No 10.

The mouser was spotted on top of Theresa May’s X-Type Jaguar yesterday afternoon.

Despite his reputation for clashes with other cats based near the PM’s official residence, Mrs May’s team confirmed he would be staying.
Former Prime Minister David Cameron said when stepping down from office: “Sadly I can’t take Larry with me, he belongs to the house and the staff love him very much - as do I.”
Larry was joined by Palmerston, the “chief mouser” at the Foreign Office earlier this year.

But the pair’s relationship has often been fractious, and resulted in cat fights caught by photographers.
Sir Alistair Graham, former chairman of the Committee on Standards in Public Life, joked about his surprise that Larry wasn’t included in David Cameron’s controversial resignation honours.

He said: ”A lot of prime ministers have done dissolution honours in which they look after their friends, but Mr Cameron has gone well over the top…I’m surprised Larry the cat didn’t get one”.
Sir Alistair Graha joked about how he expected Cameron to put Larry in his list of honours
The brown and white tabby was honoured with a blue plaque at Battersea Dogs and Cats Home in October 2012.
