When will UK election results come in? Timeline of announcements across Britain
VOTERS across Britain went to the polls yesterday in a raft of different elections. But when will the rest of the results come in?
Vote counting will take place between Thursday May 5 and Sunday May 8
Last night polls closed in elections across Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and parts of England including London.
As well as elections for local and devolved governments, voters also voted for new Police and Crime Commissioners (PCCs) to oversee police forces.
Here is a timeline of election results for all the different elections across Britain, according to the Electoral Commission.
10pm on Thursday May 5: Polls closed across Britain
Overnight: Local elections, elections in Scotland and Wales, by-elections, Liverpool mayor
Seventy-nine local councils counted their ballot papers overnight. There are 124 councils up for election in total across England and Wales.
Results came in overnight for the Scottish Parliament with the SNP making history" by winning its third Scottish election in a row.
The first results for the Welsh Assembly election showed that Labour are likely to remain the biggest party despite losing support.
Labour has also held on to two seats in the House of Commons after by-elections in Yorkshire and Wales.
Labour's Joe Anderson won a second term as mayor of Liverpool, while Wiltshire was the only area that counted votes for a PCC election.

Friday May 6: Local elections, London elections, Northern Ireland elections, PCC elections in England, Salford mayor
The remaining results for the elections in Scotland and Wales are being announced this morning. UKIP won its first seats in the Welsh Assembly.
Results for 39 local councils are expected to be announced between mid-morning and early evening today.
The people of Salford will find out who will be their new mayor. There will also be results for the remaining 35 PCC elections in England.

Results for the London mayor and London Assembly elections are expected to come in throughout the afternoon and evening.
The Northern Ireland Assembly results will finally be revealed late on Friday into Saturday May 7.
Saturday May 7: Remaining local elections, Bristol mayor
The remaining results for the Northern Ireland Assembly election are due to be announced in the early morning on Saturday.
The final five local councils will announce their results the same day. The next mayor of Bristol will be revealed.
Sunday May 8: Final local election, PCC elections in Wales
The final English local council will announce its results on Sunday.
People in Wales will also find out the results of the four PCC elections there.
