Nigel Farage has branded a climbdown from a Green Party MP "mind-blowing" after she appeared to backtrack from simply wishing outgoing President Biden well after a backlash from her own Leftie supporters.

Green Party co-leader Carla Denyer shared President Biden's resignation letter on X and praised him for the decision as a "true sign of leadership".

She added: "I wish President Biden well and thank him for his many years of public service."

But within 24 hours Ms Denyer had seemingly withdrawn her gracious words after a backlash from her own party's pro-Palestine supporters.

In a humiliating retraction she wrote again on X: "Last night I was positive about President Biden's decision to stand aside as a candidate."

She added: "Some people read into this that I was offering my unmitigated support for his Presidency, including the policy of selling arms to Israel.

"Given my long-running work campaigning for peace, this is the last thing I wanted and certainly not my position. I am sorry for not making it clearer, and that my comments left some in doubt and concerned."

Noting his fellow MP's flip-flopping on what should have been a simple comment on President Biden's resignation, Reform UK Mr Farage scoffed: "The standard of politician we have in this country is mind-blowing."

Carla Denyer, who co-leads the Greens alongside Adrian Ramsey, was elected to the House of Commons as a group of four Green MPs on the July 4 election.

Nigel Farage has been tipped by some as the next possible UK ambassador to the US, should Donald Trump win the election in November.

Republicans Overseas UK spokesperson Sarah Elliott told GB News he would be "very useful" to Donald Trump and a Republican administration come November.

Speaking about President Biden's resignation, Mr Farage, who is a long-time supporter and friend of former President Trump, said:"I predicted this would happen in September 2023. Whoever they pick, Trump will win in November."
