Nigel Farage issues urgent demand of Keir Starmer after more migrant Channel deaths
There was more tragedy in the English Channel today as Reform UK intervened to demand urgent action from the new Government.

Nigel Farage has led the charge demanding urgent action from Keir Starmer and his new government after yet more migrants died crossing the Channel this morning.
According to reports from the French media, four migrants died in the Channel after their boat capsized.
More than 60 people were reported to be on the boat off the northern French coast near Boulogne.
Latest Home Office figures show 419 people made the journey across the Channel from France to the UK in six boats on Tuesday, suggesting an average of around 70 people per boat and taking the provisional total for 2024 to date to 14,058.Responding to the breaking news, Nigel Farage demanded: “The new Government had better start moving fast”.
Fellow Reform UK MP Rupert Lowe, who represents Great Yarmouth, blasted: “419 illegal migrants crossed the Channel on Tuesday”. Almost all young men. We don't know where they have come from, or what they plan to do".
“Many will be put up in luxury accommodation around the country, paid for by us.
“It is INSANE. We will fight this in Parliament.”
Shadow Home Secretary James Cleverly described the news of further deaths as a “tragedy”, adding that the UK “must do everything in our power to stop the boats and put an end to this vile trade in human suffering”.
Home Secretary Yvette Cooper is yet to comment.
The four further deaths this morning join the 200 who have also died making the journey over the past 10 years.
While the real number could be higher, according to the UN 240 people have died since 2014, including 14 in April this year.

Two days ago the total number of crossings into Britain this year passed 14,000 as the country remains on course to see a record-breaking number of crossings.
The number making the journey this year is 10% higher than at the same point last year.
The Home Office said: “Everyone wants to see an end to the dangerous small boat crossings.”
They added that small boat crossings are: “Undermining our border security and putting lives at risk”.
“We are taking action to smash the people-smuggling gangs responsible for this trade.
“Our staff continue their heroic efforts to save lives in the Channel whilst working with our French and other international partners to ensure the criminals responsible face the full extent of the law.”
The Government sparked fury by scrapping the Rwanda scheme upon winning power, as they promised to do during the election.
However Sir Keir insists he can stop small boat crossings with a new border security command team and working better with European partners.
