Reform UK could win three seats at the upcoming General Election, according to new polling.

The survey by Survation puts the insurgent party now led by Nigel Farage on 11.4%.

According to analysis by the pollsters, Reform has a one in four chance of winning Gainsborough and North West Norfolk.

The former Brexit Party also has a one in five chance of victory in Clacton, although it does not take into account Mr Farage's candidacy in the Essex town.

Reacting to the research, the Brexit architect said: "This is the first poll that shows Reform winning seats. This will grow, you watch."

Reform faces an uphill struggle as it is difficult for new parties to break through the first past-the-post-electoral system.

The poll shows Labour is on course to win 487 seats, a majority of 324, with the Tories down to 71 MPs.

The Liberal Democrats would take 43 seats, while the SNP would be left with 26 and Plaid would have two or three.

Sir Keir Starmer's party would take 43.2% of the vote share, while the Conservatives are on 24.3%.

The Lib Dems secure 10.4%, the Greens are on 4.2%, the SNP take 3.3% and Plaid are on 0.6%, with 2.6% for other parties.

It comes as Rishi Sunak is battling to turn around the Tories' electoral fortunes after calling a surprise summer general election for July 4.

But he was dealt a blow this week after Mr Farage announced he was making a return to frontline politics to lead Reform UK and stand as the party's candidate in Clacton.

The MRP analysis is based on online and telephone interviews of 30,044 British adults carried out between May 22 and June 2 by Survation on behalf of Best for Britain.
