Macron issues demands for international tax system at G7 - 'It's not fair!'
EMMANUEL MACRON has just delivered his final speech of the three-day G7 summit and he used it to demand changes to the international tax system.

French President Emmanuel Macron has hosted world leaders in Biarritz, France this weekend and this afternoon he delivered his final address. He used the speech to condemn the “unfair” international tax system which sees some players exempt from paying taxes. Mr Macron urged an global solution to the problem, to combat the “harmful trade practices”.
Speaking at the final afternoon of the annual summit, Mr Macron said: “We want to reaffirm our desire to change the rules that govern international trade and revamp them so no-one is dealt with unfairly.
“There’s a lot of nervousness and misunderstanding.
“A lot of world players are asking about the French digital tax.
“In our economies we have an unfair situation where some players don’t pay taxes.
“That leads to stability in the economic front. It’s not fair.”
He added that a solution needs to be sought to modernise the “very negative” system.
Mr Macron said: “We want an agreement internationally to combat harmful trade practices which are also harmful to the US economy.
“When the international tax comes in France will do away with its national tax.

“But we need to find a joint agreement. The situation is very negative and needs to be modernised.”
Mr Macron, who was stood next to US President Donald Trump during the speech, said the pair had reached "convergence at unprecedented levels" on a number of issues, including Iran.
He said they agreed that Iran "should never have a nuclear weapon" and said Iran needs to comply with its nuclear obligations.
Going forward, the French President said the two countries will work "hand in hand".

On the topic of Iran, the French President hoped that a meeting could take pace "in the common weeks".
Mr Trump said similar, and said a deal could be struck in a "very short" amount of time.
The US President said: "Iran is a country that is not the same country that it was two and a half years ago when I came into office."
But Mr Trump warned that if Iran tries to push forward with its nucelar ambitions they will "be met with really very violent force".
