Jeremy Hunt appears to make dig at Boris Johnson with staged Twitter photos with wife
JEREMY Hunt has posted images of himself looking loved up with his wife Lucia in a photograph posted to Twitter as he arrived in the Isle of Wight on the Tory leadership campaign trail.
The pictures of the pair holding hands and sitting together on a bench have quickly sparked speculation Mr Hunt is “trying to make a point” against his leadership rival Boris Johnson. One picture showing Jeremy Hunt and Lucia sitting at a garden bench looks strikingly similar to that of the photo of Mr Johnson and girlfriend Carrie Symonds released days after police were called to their flat following reports of an argument.
The former Foreign Secretary refused to answer questions when he was quizzed over when the photo was taken and whether it had been “staged” following the pair’s alleged row in Ms Symonds flat.
Mr Johnson hinted the picture could have been taken as long as six weeks previously, after he was grilled on LBC radio about his different hair style in the grainy image.
Sky News political editor Beth Rigby tweeted “Jeremy Hunt arrives in Isle of Wight with his wife. Do you think he’s trying to make a point? #familyvalues” alongside an image of Mr Hunt and his wife arriving in Isle of Wight.

Meanwhile Mr Hunt posted a similar photo saying: “Taking a quick coffee break from the campaign with Lucia.
“Then off to the Isle of Wight to meet members and then back to Bournemouth for tonight’s hustings. Come and say hi! #HastobeHunt.”
Twitter users used the picture to poke fun at Mr Johnson by asking when the photos of Mr Hunt and his wife had been taken, while others simply said it was “staged”.

One said: “Are we sure that wasn’t 6 weeks ago? #JustAsking”
Another said: “Was this photo definitely taken today? Can he answer the question if it asked?”
A Twitter user added: “When was this taken Jeremy? I hope I don’t have to ask 26 times…”
