MIKE SHIPLEY was a studio engineer and producer who was nominated for eight Grammys and won three.
Having worked on albums by Def Leppard, Aerosmith and Van Halen he became a legend to many rock music fans.
Born in Australia, Shipley moved to England as a teenager and worked as an assistant at London’s Wessex Studios where bands including Queen were based.

He later formed a long-term working partnership with producer Mutt Lange on numerous hit albums by The Corrs, Shania Twain and Maroon 5 among others.
He moved to Los Angeles in 1984 to work with The Cars and remained there until his death. No cause of death has been announced.
