Baby elephant rescued from bottom of a well with a DIGGER in incredible rescue mission
A BABY elephant has been saved in an incredible rescue mission after becoming trapped at the bottom of a well.

Villagers were alerted by the screams of the elephant after it felt into the well covered by bushes in the Dhenkanal district, near Mahulupuju village in India.
A Forest Department official forged a path using a digger to create an exit for the elephant, so it was able to climb out of the hole.
Divisional Forest Officer Rinku Kumari said: "I was informed by the squad who track the movement of elephants in that area.
"I immediately took action to rescue the baby elephant. It took several hours to rescue this little elephant.

"I am elated that the whole team cooperated well during the entire operation. I have undertaken several rescue operations in my career but this was a difficult one."
The well was so narrow that the elephant could not be lifted out with the help of a rope.
The forest department brought in the JCB machine to dig a path for the elephant which emerged gradually from the bottom.
After being rescued the baby elephant ran free towards the jungle finally reunited with its family.
