Orphaned lamb has lessons on how to be a sheep as it thinks it's a dog
MEET Marley the sheep who is having lessons on how to be a lamb – because he thinks he is a dog and does not like grass or the cold.
Marley is a six-month-old Valais blacknose lamb, who regularly goes for family walks
The Valais blacknose was orphaned and taken in by a sympathetic family, becoming best mates with their dog Jess.
Six-month-old Marley is now so big he has to move outside but needs lessons on how to be a proper sheep.
Marley, a breed at home in the Swiss Alps, is more accustomed to lying in a dog bed in front of the fire.
He eats from bowls and goes out for family walks.
Marley has now quadrupled in size, and is larger than the family's labrador Jess
We had a massive garden that was really overgrown so I thought a sheep would be ideal for keeping it mowed. Little did I know it would be a while before he chomped his first bit of grass
But now he has quadrupled in size, growing larger than labrador Jess.
Mother-of-two Ali Vaughan, 34, of Rickerby, Cumbria, who lives in a farmhouse, said: “We absolutely love animals and have always had ducks and dogs.”
So when Ali spotted an ad appealing for a home for an orphaned sheep she knew she had to have him.
Marley is requiring lessons on how to be a proper sheep after living indoors with the family

Now the family have got another sheep, a brown ryeland, to help.
Ali said: “We do have a barn where he should be staying where it is nice and cosy.”
