April the giraffe LATEST: Vet loses temper as fans desperate for giraffe news
APRIL the giraffe's vet Dr Tim lost his temper on Facebook when over 1,300 eager fans flooded the zoo with emails about the mum-to-be.

Millions of fans felt they were part of an elaborate April Fool’s prank when April failed to give birth over the weekend.
Animal Adventure Park in upstate New York predicted last week April would finally give birth on Saturday.
Viewers of the pregnant giraffe’s YouTube live stream were however left disappointed when April went through the weekend without having her baby.

In an evening update from Animal Adventure park, vet Dr Tim revealed: “Pretty much all of her clinical signs from a couple days ago are still true.
“She just isn't quite ready to give the world what it wants.”
The veterinarian explained he was not concerned with April’s condition and she was not overdue with her pregnancy.

He said: “Yes she remains happy and comfortable (considering the circumstances).
“Yes, she will have this calf when she is good and ready. No, public outcry won't change that.”
The frustrated doctor also confirmed inducing the pregnancy could be fatal for the giraffe and he would not be attempting to do so.
The update also revealed the zoo was flooded with over 1,300 emails from eager fans concerned about April.

Dr Tim concluded: “No, watching after April is not my only job.
“Yes, we have been watching her for a very long time... enjoy the <free> show people. Get more popcorn.”
Initially April was set to give birth last Friday after strenuous observation revealed signs of labour.

An update from the zoo said: "We would be shocked to get through the weekend without our newest addition…”
But it seems that April has other plans for her fourth calf as she has so far defied all odds and predictions abut the birth.
Despite signs of contractions over the weekend, the mum-to-be refuses to be rushed and is taking her time.

Social media users have already stormed Twitter to vent about the situation. Hillary Kenyon tweeted: “On #giraffewatch c'mon #AprilTheGiraffe ! Have your little #baby! We are waiting!”
Another person questioned the giraffe’s motives and tweeted: “So yeah I'm sure we've all been had by #AprilTheGiraffe.”
Dr Tim will continue to update fans on April’s baby which he thinks “will not be much longer now”.
