Beauty of autumn: Britain to be filled with colour as Highland slopes lit up in glory
AUTUMN in all its glory has lit up the slopes of the Highlands where the Glenfinnan rail viaduct arcs across the head of Loch Sheil.
By the end of the week daytime highs in the south will have dipped to around 55F
The glorious conditions are the start of a period of calm but chilly weather that followed a wet and blustery weekend.
Temperatures are expected to stay around the 62.6F (17C) mark in the South over the next few days with highs of between 50F and 55.4F further north.
However this week could bring the first harsh frost of the season as temperatures drop due to clear overnight skies.
By the end of the week daytime highs in the south will have dipped to around 55F falling into single figures overnight.
Scotland and the North could even see the mercury touch freezing with frost expected in some rural spots.
