Ms Barrett hopes to spread knowledge about the often mysterious sea life through her lens.
She said: "I enjoy creating images that people have to question – how is that made? Is that real? Aren't they going to get eaten?
"It helps to engage people in discussions about conservation."
She added: "My goal ultimately is to acquaint people with the ocean environment who would otherwise have prejudices towards such a vast, and seemingly ominous, space.
"I want to present a world that is incredibly stunning, ever changing, and filled with some of the most beautiful creatures on earth."
