Poorly baby seal stranded in river rescued after being attacked by cruel children
THIS adorable baby seal was rescued after an ordeal at the hands of cruel children.
Sammy the seal is now in recovery after his traumatic ordeal
The pup nicknamed Sammy had also endured a strenuous swim upstream along the River Dour to reach Pencester Gardens in Kent.
But the slippery mammal managed to dodge his rescuers for a whole week as vets and police waded through the water with their nets.
Resident Nina Milton, the first to spot him, said: "It was over by the bridge by the bandstand.
"I was just having a sleep and then I noticed some kids started throwing stuff at it.

"It kept coming out from under a bridge to chase after the ducks and fish."
Sammy was finally captured as he slept late on Wednesday evening by head vet Jeremy Stattersfield and nurse Laura Wilson from Burnham House Vets in Dover.

Katie Wells said: "The pup, a boy has lost a great deal of weight during his time in the water and this has led him to be unable to maintain his body temperature.
"He is currently suffering from pneumonia, and has an ulcer in his left eye, likely from a rock scratch in the river.
"He is being treated for both and is showing good progress."
