Strictly for the birds: UK teen's the youngest EVER to spot 4,000 bird species
GLOBE-TROTTING Mya-Rose Craig has become the youngest person ever to spot 4,000 species of birds.

The intrepid 13-year-old set the record on a recent trip to Kenya when she glimpsed a red-throated tit.
Mya-Rose, from Compton Martin, Somerset, has been birdwatching with her parents since she was a baby.
As well as UK hotspots, the family has travelled all over the world.
Mya-Rose’s retired parents Helena and Chris tutored her between spotting birds on a six-month trip to South America when she was 10.

And she is looking forward to seeing penguins this December in Antarctica – her seventh continent.
Proud mother Helena, said: “We first took her to the Isles of Scilly when she was only a few months old.

"It’s what me and my husband have always done but Mya is really into it as well.

“By the time she was four we felt it was OK to let her start counting the birds on her own. Her favourite bird has been a southern cassowary which she saw in Australia.
"They’re quite big and they look like an emu.
“They can be really tricky to find so we were chuffed when we saw one.”

Helena added that it was unlikely her daughter would be able to spot all 10,000 species which birdwatchers compete to see.
She said: “Mya-Rose is keen to keep birding – though I’m not sure it’s fair to say she’ll get them all.”
