Six three-day-old puppies left to die under a car after they were born with birth defects
SIX three-day-old puppies were left to die in a box under a car after they were born with cleft palates and hairlips.
Six puppies were dumped because they have birth defects
Each of the tiny baby bulldogs were born with the debilitating birth defect which meant they were unable to feed for themselves.
But instead of being taken to a vet, the puppies were dumped under a black Ford Fiesta by their "callous" owner.
They were eventually discovered by a member of public in Norwich, Norfolk, last Wednesday.
By that point one puppy had sadly already died and the remaining five had pneumonia.
One was also missing a tail, according to welfare officers.
Tragically the RSPCA were unable to save them and the remaining puppies had to be put down due to their appalling condition.
One puppy was found dead and the remaining five had to be put down
An appeal has now been launched by the RSPCA in an attempt to track down the person who dumped the dogs.
Inspector Laura Sayer said: "These poor little things had been just dumped very dangerously underneath a car.
It seems likely that these little puppies were dumped because they had medical problems
"Thank goodness the owner of the car noticed them and took them home before calling us.
"It seems likely that these little puppies were dumped because they had medical problems and the owner didn't want to pay for a vet - which is such a callous way to treat little animals which were already suffering."
The owner of the Ford Fiesta estimates the puppies would have been dumped between 3.15pm and 4pm.
