Adorable real-life Bambi rescued from roadside after her mother was killed
THIS real-life Bambi was given a happy ending after she was rescued from a roadside when her mother was cruelly killed.
At just one week old, Mia the deer was discovered cowering alone at the side of a busy road after the death of her mother.
The tiny animal weighed just 1500g and would surely have perished had she not been spotted by passers-by.
She was taken to the forest ranger, who delivered her to a farm in Vulkaneifel, Germany.
The farm, run by the Ackermann family, became Mia's new home and Anita Ackermann patiently nursed the distraught deer back to health.
Mia is now happy in her new home and has even made friends with the Ackermann's dogs, Josie and Luna.
The adorable fawn has her own bed in the hallway and keeps Ms Ackermann company as she does the ironing.
She can even be seen gambolling alongside her canine companions as they accompany Ms Ackermann on walks across the fields.
