Now, these bags don't come cheap, usually retailing anywhere from £300 to over £600. But they are investment pieces that are likely to last for years if properly cared for. And they’re clearly worth it, judging by the number of celebrity fans. The brand doesn’t often hold sales, although it does occasionally run special offers, so it’s worth keeping an eye out. In January, it discounted some styles by 35% in its end-of-season sale.
The bags first came onto the radar thanks to some very stylish members of the Royal Family, with Princess Catherine and Meghan Markle both owning an assortment of designs. Meghan Markle – Strathberry Tri-Colour Midi Tote
The Strathberry Midi Tote is the original bag from the Scottish brand and one that Meghan Markle has been spotted carrying.
Prince Harry's wife owns the bag in the tri-colour shade – a rich mix of burgundy, vanilla and navy – although it also comes in a range of colours and leather styles, including croc-embossed leather. The classic Strathberry Midi Tote has also been spotted in various colours on the arms of Amanda Holden and Nicky Hilton. While Amanda styled hers with a bright orange coat for a slightly dressier look, the Hilton heiress proved that it looks just as chic dressed down while out and about. Amanda has the bag in tan, while Nicky appears to own one in a black and brown colourway that isn't currently on the website.
Meghan Markle – Strathberry East/West Mini
If you prefer something smaller that works just as well by day as it does by night, Meghan Markle has also been spotted carrying the East/West Mini bag in a beautiful bottle green shade. The bag features a flap fastening and two interior pockets. Like the Midi Tote, it is finished with the Strathberry Music Bar as a functional closure and gold hardware. The gold chain strap allows it to be worn crossbody, but it can also be adjusted to sit neatly on the shoulder.
On the petite side at 12 x 18cm, it still has enough space for essentials such as a mobile phone, keys, a wallet and lipstick.

If you love the Mosaic bag but wish it were just a touch smaller, there’s good news. The Strathberry Mosaic also comes in a Nano version, owned by Princess Catherine. The scaled-down style has all the same details as the original, just in a more compact size. Measuring 18 x 14cm, it’s small but, according to Strathberry, still roomy enough for a small purse, an iPhone, AirPods in their case and house keys.
One shopper said: "Soft leather and lightweight. Easy-to-carry bag. Simple but elegant."
